2021 Home Trends To Look For

In Engineered Hardwood Flooring, Hardwood Flooring, Laminate Flooring, Vinyl & Luxury Vinyl

There are only two months left of 2020, and everyone is looking forward to a fresh start. Look for these home trends in 2021!

Industrial and Rustic

For the last few years, all we saw in homes was the perfect gray and white interiors with little to no texture. In 2021 industrial and more rustic looks are going to become the popular style. Natural materials were less popular over the years, but even in 2020, we started to see them make a comeback. Plan to see more wood, glass, stone, and metal materials in homes. In addition, wicker, greenery, ceramics, and unpainted wood surfaces will find it’s way into the mix. The industrial and rustic look complements most, if not all, spaces in the home and especially multipurpose rooms. Living rooms attached to the kitchen might contain similar elements to tie the entire space together.

Color

In 2020 we saw new pops of color in hues of blue that began to replace grays and white. That trend is projected to continue through 2021. One of the main trends in color is the emphasis on bright palettes and rich colors in furniture designs and accessories.  Some of the more popular colors will include powdery pink, terracotta, honey-yellow, mustard, emerald green, and blue.

Texture

Texture will be a big element in 2021 regarding flooring, furniture, and even walls. Home Decor Ideas recommends layering up different textures in the same or similar colors for house decorations. If you enjoy neutrals, try layering different shade and incorporating a statement color in the mix. If you don’t want to go to the extreme of textured walls, try simple accessories like blankets and pillows. Your flooring is another way you can incorporate texture in your home. Opt for laminate or vinyl flooring that creates the look and style of natural materials like wood and stone without the massive commitment.
